I always found him to be one of the easier bosses of the original Megaman NES game. Poor guy, he never stood a chance. This is just a couple of pages from my sketchbook. Once again, playing around with the whole Megaman theme here.

Hey all, in following up to the previous Protoman related post I figured I would post some more Megaman themed artwork I've been doing. Some of the other stuff is going to take a back-seat for the moment. Today is a quick drawing I whipped up in the sketchbook. My thought for this one was fairly simple - Why doesn't Megaman use both arms as his Mega Busters? To geek out for a moment, Megaman is able to switch between having "normal" hands and turning his hand into his Mega Buster ( the "shooty-gun-thingy" he uses in all the video games). If he can turn either hand into said Mega Buster, why not go ahead and use both sometimes? I mean double the guns means double the firepower. I know it would have made some Boss battles in the games go a lot faster haha.

** Disclaimer -- I did not do my hardcore Megaman fan research on this one, so maybe it's because he's only allowed to have one at a time? I don't know, still think two would be pretty cool though.

Well I guess we'll start with this quick sketch of Protoman. I've always been a fan of Megaman, but recently I've gotten more interested in the series and characters and just playing around with stuff. I'm sure you'll be seeing some more Megaman themed sketches from me soon. Anywho this was an idea that popped into my head over vacation, I figured that Protoman was slightly more radical and grittier than his younger brother (Megaman) so I had the idea that he would fight with every resource at his disposal, including his shield. This is just a quick sketch and I'd like to think that maybe I'll revisit the idea and refine it. This is done on 8.5 x 11 cardstock with markers and ink.

Well I had done this painting a while ago - but it had somehow learned to grow legs, walk away, and misplace itself. The good news is that I found it! I'm glad I did, this was one of my favorites. It's based on a forest landscape, I don't really like doing landscapes all that much, so I decided to take it another step and use the landscape as the basis for the painting, but not solely rely on realism or being a perfect match to the original image.

On a side-note, I'm going to be away for the next week and it's questionable if I'll have internet access. But no worries, even if I can't get a blog post up - I'm definitely going to be bringing my art supplies and whipping up some new stuff.

I didn't have a whole lot of time to squeeze this one in, but the quote made me think immediately of what I waste a lot of time doing. I would say it's a safe bet that I can get lost for hours stumbling or browsing the internet, but facebook takes the cake when it comes to things that I spend too much time looking at.

Hey all, I know it's been a while since my last post - and I still have a bunch of new stuff to put up, but if you'll bear with me while I get stuff scanned, I do have this new image today. This illustration is for the quote:

I really enjoy creating illustrations for quotes, or at the very least, ones that are inspired by quotes. It's a fun challenge to come up with something interesting that speaks for itself and yet relates back to the original text. I personally like to stretch it a little and not create something that is too literal to the quote. Anyways, enjoy! I'll be posting new work soon!
